The time has come, yes, once again to make that list. You - know the dreaded list of resolutions and plans for the year to come. Gotta right 'em down though.
I'll keep it short because it is late and I have some BIG LOVE to go watch. But, in short - here are the few things I would like to accomplish next year:
1) Be a better friend-mother-wife-daughter. Not that I totally suck at these things but there is always room for improvement. I would like to spend more time with those I love. And really, more importantly, I would like to be able to relax and really enjoy those moments that I am lucky enough to have with my kids, my hubby, my parents, my sis and my friends. For those of you who have followed my blog - you know I said goodbye to a close friend just over a month ago. Saying goodbye was tough but it has really made me look at things a little (no - a lot) more carefully. I will slow down and cherish all that I've got. Thank you Paula for teaching me this. You were a much better friend than I ever could have been. I miss you.
2) Get my butt into the gym 3 times a week (or at least run on treadmill at home or around block or something to get my heart rate up for at least 30 minutes). Yes - I know - we've all got this one written down. Nothing new here - move along...
3) Publish SOMETHING. Any book, poeme (OK, not that - totally suck at writing poetry), even a boring medical article - anything... Always dreamt of writing a book - who of us bloggers has not? I would like to say that I accomplished this by the end of 2009. OK - maybe not PUBLISH something but how 'bout just write something worthy and try to get it published?
4) Do something HUGE for someone else. Felt pretty great to help out the families we adopted for Christmas. But - we really should be doing more. I will get to work on this sooner and maybe with the help of all of our OLLM friends we can get some huge event going and really make a difference.
5) Last, but not least - I am going to make a promise to myself to abstain from Starbucks and Fast Food for all of 2009. Sorry - Starbucks, I really, really love you. I know you'll miss me and I am absolutely sure that one of your stores will have to close without my daily business. But, I really feel that my daily addiction is affecting my wallet and my ass in the most negative ways (my butt gets bigger but my wallet gets smaller - not so good...)
I was going to abstain from wine and beer and champagne but really - why set completely ridiculous goals that I just know I cannot keep? Hubby bought us tix to Mardi Gras as my Christmas gift - without the kids! Can you believe it? Really - no possible way that I could go to New Orleans and not drink bellinis (peach, champagne blended drink for all of you who haven't had the pleasure) - waaay to yummy!
So - looking back on 2008 I must say it has been a great year. Except for saying goodbye to Paula and for our never-ending battle with our home builder (lawsuit continues into 2009) it has been a fantastic year. We had a few personal victories - I got a new job at a brand new hospital - very coveted job so I am feeling pretty proud about this still and hubby had some great accomplishments of his own and I am head over heels in love with him still (we're on year 7) so I am super lucky!
Yuma lost 100 lbs (GO YUMA!) - one of Scott's best friends and Felicia had a beautiful baby boy - Baby Draven (yes, very cool name but we just know he'll be goth - gotta buy him a trenchcoat and eyeliner now!). What else? Dear sis Wendy is pregnant and Chris (partner in crime at Ooh La La Mama) is FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY engaged! Yippeee!
So - for all of you out there who think they've got a plan for 2009 - please share your best ideas with us. Email or comment below. Ya never know what we'll be giving out for 2009! Good luck to all.
Wishing all of you a wonderful, happy, healthy and successful 2009. Hoping all of our wildest dreams come true!
Yours truly,
Cindy Parker

Hi there!
Here's a list of my resolutions/goals/wishlist for 2009: http://tinyurl.com/8zg9uf
Good luck with your goal to get something published in 09. Perhaps SPROUT Publishing can be of assistance in some way :)
Cheers,
Sarah Prout
I'm with you on the whole getting my heart rate up for at least 30 minutes (it would help if Kmart would stock a Wii for us) but until then walking around the neighborhood or some exercise programs on the FitTV channel will have to do.
I LOVE Starbucks, but since I became a SAHM I've had to cut back big time. I'm thinking of buying the syrups and coffee for those days when I need a special treat.
I wish you lots of luck on getting a piece of work published this year.
Sounds like you've got some great plans for yourself and OLLM in 2009!
From my blog
2008 was a very reflective year for me, I have regrets and hopes for the future, you have already had the former, now here are my hopes.
I hope my family stays healthy.
I hope people are nicer to each other.
I hope the economy perks back up.
I hope I find a full-time teaching job.
I hope Pinky stays warm during the rest of the winter.
I hope no more soldiers die.
I hope my daughter's back is not going to need a brace.
I hope my husband finds a decent new crew.
I hope my son grows to his satisfaction.
I hope my dogs don't get any tics this year.
I hope no more of my friend's marriages fall apart.
I hope I don't get the flu.
I hope we are able to fix the pre-lit Christmas Tree- or it is going out the door.
I hope I get fit.
I hope the new president doesn't quit, I would.
I hope my friends hopes all come true.
I hope we get Nickleback tickets.
Selfish Hope:
I hope I get a new bathroom, or carpeting, or a Maid. Any of the three will do.
Great resolutions and I wish you luck with meeting them all especially the not eating fast food. The whole exercise thing is on my list too along with the ever popular lose some freakin weight. Happy New Year!
I love this post! I esp like that you want to publish something and spend more time with those you love. Great resolutions! I look forward to reading your blog more this year!
Hey, I am not a mom, but I have four daughters and have spent tons on kids clothes over the years. If I was still buying them, I'd say yours rock!!!!!
09 is going to be the year where I experience huge growth online. This is going to enable me to spend more time at home and generally enjoy less stress.
Oh, and I'm gonna do better at the workout thing also!
I love you goals for the coming year! Here's mine:

One of my biggies is to grow my blog, but I also want to stop yelling this year.
Happy New Year!!
I have no plans for 2009! I know it will be better than 08- full of blessings and prosperity!
This year, one of my goals is to be more organized. Little by little, this is becoming more achievable!
Best wishes for you and your family in 2009!
The new blog looks fab!! 2008 sucked, 2009 has GOT to be better!!
I love the comments!
Amy - it's really, really going to be a fantastic year. Goodbye 2008 and hello prosperity, good health and great friends in 2009!
Momsoffaith - I am with you about the stopping yelling. Gotta work on this one too...
Sarah - I will probably talk to you about the book thing too. I am emailing you in a bit.
Thanks everyone! Love the comments. Nice to see!
We have a couple in common. The work out thing (I think every woman in North America has that too, so I feel well supported) and the publishing something or at least trying, I have two children's books I wrote that I've never done anything with. Maybe next year we'll both be published authors. A girl can dream right?
Bellinis... YESSS!! And what new hospital? Anywhere in SD? There are a few new ones near here.
Anyway, great list. Always good to better ourselves and making our lists public is the best way to stay accountable, at least to the one that counts. :)
wow. you have a lot of resolutions! mine was just to not buy any more books until i read my huge stack of "to reads" that are piling up!
Awesome list and goals to accomplish! Good Luck!
